Sonia to meet President Pranab over growing intolerance

Congress president Sonia Gandhi is likely to meet President Pranab Mukherjee this week to bring his attention towards the alleged "growing intolerance' and "communal tensions" in the country. Though the date is yet to be finalised, Congress sources said Gandhi will lead a party delegation to the Rashtrapati Bhavan either on November 3 or 4.

The proposed meeting comes in the wake of a large number of writers and artistes returning their state awards in protest against the alleged "growing intolerance' towards intellectuals across the country.
