Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who is back in New Delhi after a two-day visit to Kerala addressed the ongoing convention of the National Students Union of India (NSUI).

The target, of course, was PM Narendra Modi. Thankfully, though this time he did not bring up the suit-boot ki sarkar jibe that he has been parroting ad nauseam.

Rahul began his speech talking about the PM's foreign tours. PM visited China, US and even Mongolia, but did not meet farmers. Modi-ji bhashan me kehte hain gareebon ki madat karni hai. France ka daura ho gaya, USA, Japan, Mongolia tak chale gaye... Magar bhaiya, Modi-ji kisaan ke ghar nahin gaye.

Buoyed by the applause, Rahul continues....

"Parliament main jab hamari sarkar thi mujhe yaad hai Advani-ji chup baithte thay, aur BJP main sab log ek awaaz main bolte thay. Kisano ya education ki baat karni hai, ek vyakti jaanta hai, kapdko ki baat karni hai toh woh bhi ek hi vykati jaanta hai. (Takes a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi... Rahul says only one person knows everything from farmers' issues to clothes). There we go again.

The PM says education is empowerment on the one hand, but on the other hand, cuts the education budget.

"RSS ki shakha ko dekho, usme line lagti hai, seedhi line hoti hai. Usme kissi ne 'chuu' kar diya, ussi ke upar laathi barsaate hain. Discipline is an excuse for them, an excuse to kill individuality.

"The complexity of India and it's ideologies are filled in this room, this is the strength of the Congress party. The DNA of the Congress party is to listen to everyone. BJP wants to run India like an RSS wing. Education is seeing the influence of the RSS."

He concludes his speech with Dr Manmohan Singh's meeting with the PM last evening. "Kal Manmohan-ji ne kaha economy down ja rahi hai, uske baad PM ne ek ghante ki paathshaala li hamare PM-ji (Manmohan Singh) se."
