Monika More who lost both arms in a rail accident last year secures 63% in the HSC exams.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune announced the HSC results for the Class 12 board examinations today.

Monika, a commerce student, appeared for her papers with assistance from a writer. Her parents said she was slowly getting used to the myoelectric arms and can write with it too but can't write a complete paper with it in the stipulated time. They accompanied her to the exam centre at Saraswati Vidyamandir, Ghatkopar, every day.

On January 11 last year, Monika, then 17 years old, was trying to board a local train from Ghatkopar when she fell into the gap between the platform and the train. She lost both her arms after coming under the moving train.

On May 22, 2014, Monika began using her German Ottobock prosthetic arms and has never looked back.  Salute!
