No respite from the heat: Death toll rises to 1,020 in Andhra

The stifling summer and heat has claimed 1,020 lives alone in Andhra Pradesh. The severe heat wave has "claimed 1,020 lives," said officials of the State Disaster Management, adding that the toll for Prakasam district isthe highest -- 202. The toll since May 18 are: Guntur -- 168, followed by Visakhapatnam -- 123, Vizianagaram -- 102 and Nellore --89.
