So, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi began his padyatra in the Adilabad district of Telangana this morning, to console families of farmers who committed suicide.

The 44-year-old leader,  who arrived in Telangana last night after landing at Nanded in neighbouring Maharashtra, launched his walkathon on Friday morning from Koratikal village.

He met the family members of Velma Rajeshwar, who allegedly committed suicide due to a debt burden of nearly Rs 12 lakh, and consoled them.

As the family members spoke in Telugu, Uttam Kumar Reddy, president of Congress party's Telangana unit, helped Rahul in understanding the problems faced by them.
