Modi at Wild Goose Pagoda, to gift Bodhi sapling to China

Next stop for PM Modi in China is at the Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an. Modi and Chinese President Xi took a guided tour at the pagoda. Modi will handover a Bodhi tree sapling here.


Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar talking about the delegation level talks held earlier said, :There was some talk of Nepal and how India and China had responded to the earthquake situation in Nepal and also to Maldives when they had that problem with water.


"Political issues were discussed, boundary issues were discussed including peace and tranquility across border. Some time was spent on discussing connectivity issues, and the issue of terrorism naturally came up."


PM Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived on a three-day visit to China during which he is expected to hold summit talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on a range of issues including the festering border dispute and China's plans for infrastructure projects in PoK. The Prime Minister was accorded a colourful welcome at the airport on arrival.
