In Xi's hometown, PM Modi visits Da Xing Shan Temple

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the Da Xing Shan Temple in Xi'an. Modi, who is on his first visit to China after becoming PM, earlier visited the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi Jinping's home town. The PM was accorded a very warm welcome when he arrived in China early this morning.

Xi Jinping will join Modi in the afternoon and the two leaders will hold talks to build on their rapport discussing the most contentious issues like border dispute and China's big push to rope in reluctant India into the Silk Road projects, specially the maritime silk road (MSR) over which India has strong reservations.

Modi will arrive in Beijing later tonight and meet Premier Li Keqiang tomorrow for talks.
