Another secular blogger hacked to death in Bangladesh

Ananta Bijoy Das, a secular blogger, was hacked to death in the Shubid Bazar area of Sylhet, Bangladesh. The incident took place around 8:30 am Tuesday morning.

Das wrote for the Mukto Mona, slain blogger Avijit Roy's website.

Two other bloggers -- Avijit Roy and Washiqur Rahman -- have been killed in Bangladesh over the last few months.

The incident sparks fresh concerns for freedom of speech in Bangladesh, where several secular-minded writers have been targeted by militants.

The incident took place when around 50 passengers hailing from Kharsia area in the neighbouring Chhattisgarh were returning in the boat after visiting a temple in Patharseni Kuda in Odisha's Bargarh district.
