Salman Khan leaves for the sessions court. At the court, he will have to notionally surrender, furnish a fresh bail bond of Rs 30,000 after which the court will grant him bail.

Point to note is Salman's conviction has not been overturned. What Judge Thipsay did today at the High Court today was to suspend the five-year sentence. Which means the case will be heard again when a fresh appeal is filed after the court resumes on June 15. The court will then allow Salman to file a fresh appeal in the case which may be heard by July or August. The case can wind up in a few months or even take years.

Till a fresh order on the sentence is given, Salman stays out of jail on bail, though a few conditions apply.
