The road outside Salman Khan's home in Bandra, Mumbai, is off-limits for vehicles, with the traffic police sealing it, reports Syed Firdaus Ashraf/Rediff.com.

The precaution has been taken as many fans, in a show of solidarity, have started reaching Galaxy Apartments, the seafacing building in which the actor lives with his family, from Friday morning ahead of his bail application which comes up for hearing in the Bombay high court.

Hundreds of policemen have also been deployed outside Salman Khan's home to prevent any untoward incident.

"The crowds can become unmanageable, so we have taken a decision to block all traffic going towards Bandstand from Hill Road,' said a traffic police constable on duty.

"If the world is against Salman then I am against the world,' said Disha Jain, a college student and a big fan who had come to Bandra seaface to catch a glimpse of Salman. Her friend, Sheela Dave, said, "Five years is too harsh a punishment for Salman, it is just not done. I hope he gets bail today, I prayed to God for the same.'

The media too has been camping in strength outside the actor's apartment to give the latest updates.

Judge Abhay Thipsay of the Bombay high court will hear Salman's bail application today. Senior counsel Amit Desai will appear for Salman Khan, while public prosecutor Kamlesh Shinde will represent the Maharashtra government.

Actors like Aamir Khan, Govinda, Salman's former girlfriend Sangeeta Bijlani, actress Sonakshi Sinha, Preity Zinta, yesteryear actress Waheeda Rehman and even Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray have visited Salman to show their support.
