Swachh Bharat Abhiyan losing steam?

It seems the fanfare with which the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched is now losing steam.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his ambitious campaign last year on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

His mission was carried forward by various ministries and government officials across the country in a grand manner.

However, Modi's pet project does not appear to have enthused a majority of states as only three of the 11 chief ministers turned up for the last week meeting of the sub-group formed for the purpose.
