Over 6,000 employees retire in Himachal on a single day

Over 6,000 government employees, including more than 100 officers, retired here on a single day today. The superannuated employees included directors of higher and primary education, director of health, over two dozen joint directors of various departments and three dozen employees of state secretariat.

Maximum number of about 2,500 employees, including a dozen officers, and about 600 headmasters retired from the education department while other departments with larger number of superannuating employees are public works, irrigation and public health, and the police.
