An in increasingly intolerant Bangladesh, another blogger has been hacked to death in the capital Dhaka. Local police chief, Wahidul Islam, told AFP that the victim has been identified as Washiqur Rahman. "He was brutally hacked to death this morning with big knives just 460 metres from his home at Dhaka's Begunbari area."

Just last month, a prominent American blogger of Bangladeshi origin, known for his writing against religious fundamentalism, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Dhaka, according to the police.

Avijit Roy, 40, was attacked with machetes when he was returning from a book fair at Dhaka University late on Thursday night along with his wife Rafida Ahmed. Read more
