Germanwings crash: 'No medical note presented'

Following reports that Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who intentionally downed the plane in the French Alps, had been issued a medical note for the day of the accident, the airline has come forward and specified that they were not aware of Lubitz' sick note.

In a statement, the airline said, "Media reports say that the co-pilot on FU 9525 had a sick note for the day of the accident. Germanwings would like to clarify that no medical note was presented to the firm for this day."
