Driver was behind the wheel, says Salman

Salman said he got out from the driver's side of the SUV as the door on his side was jammed. Some witnesses had said that they had seen the actor exiting the car from the driver's side.

Eyewitnesses also said that after the accident Salman seemed very drunk and was stumbling and falling all over the place. However, Salman told the court today that he was not drinking. Salman has claimed that it was his driver Ashok Singh who was behind the wheel.

Analyses of his blood samples have showed high alcohol content, the prosecution has said.

The accident happened in the early hours of September 28, 2002.
