Dornier crash: Body of woman officer found, one officer still missing

Nearly 48 hours after the Navy Dornier plane crashed into the sea off the Goa coast, the body of Lt Kiran Shekhawat, the observer officer on-board, was located by divers in the wreckage.
Her body was being taken to Goa, last night.
However, the second officer-sub-lieutenant Abhinav Nagori, is still missing.
Lt Kiran Shekhawat is married to Navy officer Vivek Chhoker and is the first woman officer of the Navy to have died in a service aircraft crash.
Shekhawat, an observer, had taken part in the first all-women marching contingent of the navy during the Republic Day parade.

INS Makar, a naval hydrographic vessel, had detected a large metallic
object using its side-scan sonar at a depth of 50-60 metres. Later on
inspection, it was confirmed that the object was the fuselage of the
Dornier aircraft.
