Modi directs Venkaiah to meet Prez on Land Bill

Two clues that the BJP is desperate to get the Land Bill nod in the Rajya Sabha.

1. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will be briefing President Pranab Mukherjee and 2. Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth will also be calling on the President.

Both indicative of the BJP government's approach to the Land Acquisition Bill.

And then there was a meeting of senior Union Ministers with Prime Minister Modi yesterday.

Modi is also said to have told Naidu to take relevant constitutional data about the ordinances which have not seen the light of day in the Rajya Sabha, but need to be passed. The Land Acquisition Ordinance expires on April 5.
