In fact, Congress Chief Minister Oomen Chandy made a personal appeal to Governor Sathasivam not to leave Kerala for another year, till the state elects a new assembly in May 2016. Chandy's apprehension is that Narendra Modi will send a hard core fundamentalist with a RSS background as replacement, which will affect not only the Congress but also also the UDF's chances of returning to power.
