Home Minister Rajnath Singh assurance to minorities over the repeated attacks on churches won't cut ice. Rajnat says, "I will go to any extent to protect minorities. I will do everything to end the sense of insecurity prevailing among minorities."

On Saturday, church in Navi Mumbai's Panvel area was attacked by miscreants. The CCTV footage found from the church premises show three men hurling stones at the church at 1.30 am on Friday night.

During this attack, a statue of St George which is placed right outside the church enclosed in a glass box was damaged.

Rajnath's assurance is unlikely to calm rising tensions among minorities especially after six people, including the chief of a Hindu fringe group which allegedly vandalised a church in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur were arrested and then let off within an hour after being granted bail.
