The BJP government is believed to have drawn up a new strategy to ensure the Land Bill gets the green signal in Parliament.

A new Land Bill will be introduced in the second half of the Budget session in the Lok Sabha. This bill will be presented before a Joint Select Committee and suggestions for changes can be sent to the JSC in a month.

The suggestions for changes to be incorporated in the bill can be sent over the Internet. The government is also planning to ensure maximum interaction with the maximum number of political parties.

The government wants the Budget session to be extended by a week, by which time both houses will pass the Land Bill (or so it hopes).

This strategy will be put in place once regional parties like the AIADMK, BJD, BSP, SP, NCP and the Trinamool can be convinced to come on board.

Some of the basic amendments suggested by the BJP committee report on the Land Bill is that RSS inputs will be in corporated.

And yes, sources tell us that the Land Bill will be law by the middle of May.
