SC quashes UPA govt's decision to include Jats under OBC

The Supreme Court quashes the Centre's decision to give reservation to Jats under Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. The SC said that "backwardness should be social and not economic or educational. Caste, though a prominent factor, can't be the sole factor to decide backwardness. Possible wrong inclusion of a caste in the OBC list in the past cannot be the basis of further wrong inclusions."
