BJP parliamentary meeting to discuss land bill strategy underway

The meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentary board is underway to discuss the strategy over the Land Acquisition Bill with the Opposition bent on derailing the bill.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh and leaders of several other parties will march from Parliament House to Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Other senior leaders including JDS chief HD Devegowda, CPI-M's Sitaram Yechury, CPI's D Raja, Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi, SP's Ramgopal Yadav, DMK's Kanimozhi, INLD's Dushyant Chautala and RJD's Prem Chand Gupta are also expected to be part of the protest march.

Opposition leaders are also likely to submit a memorandum against the new land bill to President Pranab Mukherjee.
