KC Tyagi of the JDU responds to his colleague and party chief Sharad Yadav's statement during a debate on the Insurance Bill. Tyagi said, "We are sorry if somebody... my sister, is angry or hurt with the statement of Sharad Yadav. But his remark was not in the bad taste, he is a fatherly figure to Kanimozhi.

Yadav spoke about 'saanvli' (dark) South Indian women when the Insurance Bill was presented in Parliament and said, "In the entire country there are more saanvle (dark skinned) men. The women of south are beautiful, their bodies...their skin ...We don't see it here. They know dance," he remarked.

When DMK MP Kanimozhi objected, Yadav said every discussion in Parliament need not be "serious".
