At the International Yoga Day being held at the Vigwan Bhavan in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "As I stand here today, International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the world. In India, this morning millions of people participated in a simple yoga demonstration at Rajpath, state and district capitals."

"This coming together with our brothers of sisters in other countries, brings our hearts and minds together. When I spoke at the UN General Assembly, little did I know about the kind of unprecedented response our proposal would receive," he added.

"Im grateful to international community for support, this support is not just for India, its for the great tradition of Yoga. The solidarity shown by the neighboring countries for today has brought us closer."

"The reach and spread of yoga spans continents, cuts across differences of colour, cast and creed. In order to benefit fully from yoga, we must understand who is yogi. Yoga is a vision for harmonious future," he said.

"Yoga jeevan ko jee bhar kar jeene ki jadi-booti hai. (Yoga helps to live life to the fullest)," he added.
