Tharoor may address media on Friday to rebut Modi's charge

Shashi Tharoor has written a detailed note to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi about Lalit Modi's statement that he (Tharoor) lost his job because he lied. 'He lied that he had nothing to do with the Kochi (IPL) team,' Lalit Modi had said.

Tharoor is expected to hold a media interaction on Friday -- once the dust settles in the controversy -- to present his side of the story, sources said.

A senior Congress leader who is privy to his party's internal issues is of the view that the Congress should not provoke Lalit Modi at this juncture. Reason: the former IPL commissioner could then reveal more facts which could reach the higher echelons of the party.
