Buzz in Congress is Sonia will make way for daughter

Speculation is rife in 24 Akbar Road, the Congress party's headquarters, that Priyanka Gandhi will contest a Lok Sabha by-election from Rae Bareli in 2016.

That will come on the heels of Rahul Gandhi's elevation as party president, expected to take place in September this year.

Buzz in Congress circles is that Sonia Gandhi will resign her Lok Sabha citing poor health, thus paving the way for her daughter to take on the mantle of MP.

There is also talk that Sonia plans to go undergo another medical check-up in the US of A at the end of this month.
