Modigate: Cong mounts fresh attack on PM, BJP
June 16, 2015  22:43
Opposition today mounted a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP as the Modigate controversy involving External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took a new twist with surfacing of a document in which Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje allegedly backed the immigration plea of scam-tainted IPL chief Lalit Modi.

Alleging the hand of "entire BJP leadership" behind this "murky deal", Congress Communication Department Chairman Randip Surjewala said both Swaraj and Raje should be "sacked immediately".

Holding that Raje has no moral ground to continue in office, Surjewala demanded "immediate resignation" of the Chief Minister and added that the BJP was trying to defend an "indefensible case".
