Hard to believe that PM didn't know about support to Lalit Modi: Congress

Attacking the government over the Lalit Modi row, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "It is clear that the BJP was aiding a fugitive of law."

"Lalit Modi who's accused of betting, black money laundering was aided by External Affairs Minister (Sushma Swaraj). The minister has herself acknowledged her association with the tainted Lalit Modi. The entire BJP government is aiding and abetting a fugitive of law, perhaps with tacit approval of the PM," he said at a presser this evening.

"It is hard for a person with a reasonable conscience to believe that the honorable PM did not know of the active help being extended to Lalit Modi," he added.
