Irom Sharmila on Manipur ambush: Attack happened because of AFSPA

Manipur activist Irom Sharmila, who will appear in a Delhi court today for attempting suicide during her fast-unto-death in 2006 speaks out on the ambush in her state that led to the deaths of 18 army men. She said, "I don't approve such lunatic killings. The attack happened because of AFSPA."

Sharmila has been on a fast for about 12 years, demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
