Mexico: Death toll 27 after truck hits religious procession
July 31, 2015  09:15
The death toll rose to 27 and authorities listed 149 others as injured after a truck lost control and slammed into a religious procession in a central Mexico town. A Public Safety Department official for the state of Zacatecas confirmed the figures yesterday and said some of those hurt had grave injuries.

The official was not authorised to be quoted by name and spoke on condition of anonymity. Authorities were investigating the company that owns the truck and were searching for the driver, who apparently fled the scene of the crash.
