Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's choice for chief of the women's rights commission has been approved by Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.

Jung, who had earlier rejected the appointment of Swati Maliwal as the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women, has believed to have accepted the appointment today.

On Friday, Jung had said he never tried to negate the authority of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and would clear the file on appointment of DCW chief Swati Maliwal once it is properly processed.

The Lt Governor, however, criticised Kejriwal for makinginappropriate references to the Prime Minister in a letter he sent to the LG. Kejriwal had accused Jung of acting at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the LG rejected Maliwals appointment saying his approval had not been taken.

Heeding to LGs demand, AAP government had sent the file to him for clearance. Jung in a letter to the Chief Minister today said he would have no hesitation in confirming Maliwals appointment based on his recommendation but said the file was not properly processed.
