The Pakistani government has condemned the deadly attack today that left five cops and three civilians dead at Gurdaspur in Punjab. The foreign office said Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the government and people of India and wish the wounded a speedy and full recovery.

India has said that the perpetrators of today's terror strike are suspected to have sneaked into India from Pakistan through the unfenced border between Jammu and Pathankot or Chak Hira in Jammu district.

Union home ministry sources said the terrorists, the name of whose outfit was still unclear, may have entered the Indian territory around last midnight and hit the highway using Paharpur road, nearly 15km from the international border.
