The Bombay High Court to start hearing Salman Khan's appeal against conviction in the hit-and-run case on July 30. Ironically, this is the date, that 1993 Mumbai blasts convict is to be hanged.

Salman, who was sentenced to five years in jail by the sessions court earlier this year in the hit-and-run case in which one person died, was later granted bail by the Bombay high Court.

Khan's tweets defending Yakub Memon, the death row convict of 1993 Mumbai blasts case, has drawn severe flak from different quarters, with the BJP demanding a cancellation of the actor's bail in the 2002 hit-and-run case.

The 49-year-old actor said that an "innocent" is being hung for the crimes of his brother and the prime suspect in the 1993 bombings - Tiger Memon.
