AIADMK MPs in the Central Hall of Parliament say that the reason MDMK chief Vaiko met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was because he wanted permission for Sun TV and Sun FM. The meeting had nothing to do with the CBI inquiry over the killing of the innocent Tamilians by the Andhra Pradesh Police in the sandalwood mafia case. AIADMK MPs want the PMO to refuse permission to Sun TV.

Five companies of Kalanithi Maran-promoted Sun TV have not been allowed to participate in Phase III FM auctions as the information and broadcasting ministry had rejected their applications.
