Yakub Memon files mercy plea to Maharashtra governor

Just in: 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon today filed a mercy petition to Maharashtra Governor.

Memon, the lone death row convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts that left 257 dead and over 700 injured, will hang with the Supreme Court dismissing his curative petition, the last legal remedy available to avoid execution of death sentence. Earlier, his mercy plea was rejected by President Pranab Mukherjee.
