Finance Minister Arun Jaitley speaks to reporters on the Lalit Modi controversy as both houses of Parliament are adjourned. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day, while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm.

Jaitley says the government is ready for discussions in any format, at any time. "We proposed that the external affairs minister (Sushma Swaraj) will join the discussion and make her stand, but it is clear the opposition doesn't want a discussion. All that the opposition wants is to not let the session run. We offered that we can adjourn till 2 pm, they only want disturbance, not discussion. Discussion can be held, Sushma-ji can begin the discussion or give explanations at the end. Even that is not acceptable to the opposition. The government is publicly declaring that we are ready for discussion at any time."
