As polls loom Nitish Kumar reaches out to Kejriwal

With months to go for the Assembly elections in Bihar, highly placed sources in the JD(U) said that the party is keen to tap the Aam Aadmi Party to help reach out to the young electorate.


Sources said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Arvind Kejriwal twice at the Delhi CM's residence recently, and added that another meeting may take place between the two this weekend.


The sources added that while they are certain that Kejriwal would not put up any AAP candidate in the election, which is due in September-October, they were not sure about how Kejriwal would formulate his support for Nitish, given that the JD(U) has tied up with Lalu Prasads RJD.


The ascendance of Kejriwal in politics is rooted in the anti-corruption plank and he cannot obviously identify himself with either Lalu Prasad or the Congress," sources said. Read the full story here.
