Seven time champion Roger Federer defeated France's Giles Simon 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in a rain-interrupted match to seal a place in the men's singles semi-finals at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

The second seed Swiss ace, who won in 94 minutes, will play the winner of the quarter-final between third seed Andy Murray of Britain and Canada's Vasek Pospisil.
