It's a promise the Congress will keep. The party will not allow Parliament to function when it meets later this month unless top BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje are removed from office for the favours extended to disgraced cricket mogul Lalit Modi, said senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad today.

The strategy has not found favour so far with other Opposition parties. "They should prove they are not compromising with their principles by siding with the ruling party," Azad said.

The party is steadfast in its demand for the resignation of Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje," Azad told NDTV about the BJP leaders who furthered Lalit Modi's case with UK immigration officials while he avoided returning home to face corruption charges.
