Union home minister Rajnath Singh today said that the contentious Armed Forces Special Powers Aact "will be revoked from Jammu and Kashmir when the situation is conducive."He also said there are no proposals to hold talks with the Hurriyat.

Rajnath, who is in Srinagar since yesterday, held a review meeting on security provisions for the Amarnath Yatra. The second batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were flagged off from Jammu base camp today.

In March, following two incidents of fidayeen (suicide squads) attacking a police station and an army establishment in the Jammu sector close to the border with Pakistan, Rajnath had said, "AFSPA ko samapta karne ke abhi halaat nahin hai (The situation is not conducive to ending AFSPA)."
