Where R-Day floats go to die

Ever wondered where the massive floats that chug on tractors down Raj Path on India's Republic Day parade go to die? They end where they began, in a massive temporary township on a 12-acre site in Delhi's army cantonment equipped with tuck shops, a small medical clinic, a cafeteria, a large dining room, and even a reading room. After their moment in the sun (or rain this year) on parade day, the 48-feet floats return here to be dismantled.  Read
