All India Congress Committee member and former member of Parliament from Mumbai, Gurudas Kamat, has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to his government's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign as he has denied his lawfully wedded wife her rightful place in his life.

"What does Beti Bachao mean? Isn't Modi's wife Jashodaben somebody's daughter too,' Kamat asked in a conversation with Prasanna Zore/Rediff.com.

The former Congress MP said if the prime minister really wants to show his sincerity about the 'Beti Bachao' campaign then he should start at home by giving his wife of longstanding her place in his household.
