Delhi polls: 230 nominations rejected, 693 candidates remain in fray

A total of 693 candidates remained in the the fray for the February 7 Delhi Assembly polls after the Election Commission cancelled nomination of 230 candidates during the scrutiny of papers today.

The last date of withdrawal of nomination is January 24. According to the Delhi chief electoral officer's office, a maximum of 18 candidates are in the fray from the Burari constituency in North Delhi while the Ambedkar Nagar seat in South Delhi has the lowest number of nominees at four. 

Nomination papers of all senior leaders including AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, BJP's chief ministerial nominee Kiran Bedi and Congress's Ajay Maken were found valid.
