A woman faculty with a government-run college, who also writes scripts for Malayalam films, has been asked by college authorities to explain the "indecent behavior'' of kissing her husband during "kiss in the street'' recently held in Kozhikode to protest against moral policing.

Deedi Damodaran and her husband Premchand had kissed on a street on December 7 to express their solidarity with the agitation. Premchand was even beaten by Hanuman Sena, which had threatened to thwart the event.
