Known for his controversial statements, Justice Markandey Katju, former chairman of the Press Council of India, raised eyebrows by posting on his personal blog on Tuesday that he wants Katrina Kaif to be the next president of India.

A day later, he retracted his statement on Facebook saying that his blog post was "purely in a lighter vein' and that if he had offended anyone, he would like to apologise for it.In his post, Justice Katju wrote that he was inspired by the election of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovi as the president of Croatia. He went on to surmise that he was in favour of electing beautiful women on all posts. -- Indian Express
