Modi Sarkar yet to announce new CEC's name

It's not just ambassadorial appointments that seem to have been held up by Modi Sarkar. Also pending is a successor to Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath, who will demit office on January 15, just three days away.

It is mandatory that constitutional positions are announced one month before the incumbent demits office. The secretary in the Union ministry of law submits the file to the Prime Minister's Office 30 days in advance, so why is the PMO sitting on it?
