Europe is on edge after the firing on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Wednesday and the attacks on mosques the day after.

The busy Madrid station was evacuated during the rush hour last evening after a suspicious package was found, the Spanish police said.
The package was located at one of the entrances to the Nuevos Ministerios station, which serves three lines of Madrid's metro system as well as six regional commuter railway lines, just before 6.00 pm (local time), AFP reports.

Spain upgraded its anti-terror security level after the Hebdo attack.
