Runaway schoolgirls have crossed to Syria: UK police
February 25, 2015  00:35
The Scotland Yard believes that the three runaway British schoolgirls who boarded a flight to Turkey to reportedly join the dreaded Islamic State terror group have now crossed the border to Syria.

The girls reportedly on their way to join IS extremists were likely to have been smuggled across the border four or five days ago, the BBC reported. Earlier, the Scotland Yard had been forced to defend its reaction time to track the three missing teenagers after the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Bulent Arinc, accused the force of unnecessary delay by alerting them only three days later.

However, the metropolitan police stressed it began working with Turkish authorities a day after the girls went missing and as soon as they had established the facts.
