Reuters' bureau chief found dead in Islamabad

A foreign journalist working in Islamabad was found dead in Islamabad on Monday, Express News reported.

Maria Golovnina, a Russian-Japanese, had been working with Reuters as the news agency's bureau chief for Pakistan and Afghanistan for the past year and a half.

Golovnina was found in Islamabad's Sector-F neighbourhood on Monday.

Initial reports state her death occurred from natural causes.

According to her colleagues, the Russian journalist fell unconscious and was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) where she was pronounced dead.

Golovnina's husband reportedly told PIMS doctors to not carry out a post-mortem examination on her body.
