Rape of Japanese girl: 9 charge sheeted for gang-rape

Twelve days after a Japanese tourist was allegedly raped by a 'guide', the Jaipur police today filed a charge sheet against the main accused and eight others, who allegedly colluded with him, for the offences of kidnapping and gang-rape.

The girl was allegedly raped at a deserted place near Dudu, a suburban town of Jaipur on the night of February 8.

The charge sheet was filed in the court of Munsif Magistrate, Dudu, against the main accused Ajit Singh and eight others -- Abdul Wahid, Abrar, Shyoraj, Rajveer Singh, Ravindra, Dharmveer, Ramveer Saran and Ramraj-- under sections 376 (D)(gang rape), 366 (kidnapping), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 384 (extortion), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), 109 (abetment), 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence) and 212 (harbouring offender) of the Indian Penal Code.
